Editing options

The Edit section provides the options for managing your functions.

Edit options in Function Vault

[1] Delete: Deletes the selected function from Function Vault. It does not delete the function from any workbooks where it has been implemented.

[2] Rename: If you don’t like the name of a function, you can rename it.

[3] Search Tags: Provide a list of space-separated words to help find functions easier. The Search Tags are included within the search functionality.

[4] Description: Edits the description of the function.

NOTE: The editing options only change the functions within Function Vault. Any workbooks where the functions have been implemented are unchanged.

Managing updates

When the Function Vault Add-in is updated, the new version will not include your existing library. Therefore, you may need to export your existing library and import it into the new version of Function Vault.

Database Export or Import

To export the existing database, in the Edit section, click [1] Database > Export.

This creates an Excel workbook with a Table containing the database of functions and related information.

After updating Function Vault, to import the existing database, click [1] Data > Import. Then following the on-screen instructions.
