Excel is an essential part of so many jobs these days.  When used well, Excel can automate repetitive tasks, transform raw data into insightful information, solve problems and predict future outcomes.

I have been asked many times how I become so good at Excel.  My answer is always the same: books and online courses.  This is why I recommend them as a way to learn.  If I could go back and speak to my younger self, I would advise investing in my Excel learning much earlier; it would have shortcut so many stages in my career (and saved me a ton of time).  Please don’t be like me and wait to invest in yourself, take the opportunity to develop your skills today.

Online courses and books are great because you can learn at own pace and repeat difficult topics.

With so many Excel options available, where do you start?  I’ve created this page to list what I believe to be the best books and instantly available online course.
